Coleman Miller: The Price

Darkness reveals itself as the highwayman
Man and horse meld inside the blackness

Without a drip of emotion he says
Your money or your life

Without a hint of humour I reply
I have neither

I like how you draw your audience such a vivid picture with so few words in the first stanza. I also like "a drip of emotion" because it seems like an innovative way to show the tightly controlled manner of the highwayman. He is so tightly sealed that not a drip of his inner emotion escapes.
