I followed the rabbit, now I'm gone
the lights are all snuffed out
and I must scramble with my hands
distant sounds echo in the dark
my feet catch on root and stone
down the tunnel with arms stretched out
a light dazzles in the forever dark
I climb up over a giant stone
utter amazement, my fear is gone
blinding light, I raise my hand
somehow feel like I've been here before
giant green trees, some light some dark
I move branches and vines with my hand
huge insects draw near, then gone
the jungle ends and I've come out
alive still, but how long for?
my heart lurches, hardening to stone
deep breaths and I push off the stone
grassland spreads in front, the sun is gone
a small cabin with a light beckons in the dark
I push the wooden door open with my hand
keys on the table spread out
what can they be for?
five doors in front, my hand stretches out
keys, how can there only be four?
key slides into lock of stone
swings slowly open and reveals only dark
darkness and my wonderland is gone
I look down and see the needle in my hand
I close my eyes and I run my hands
through my hair. Escape gone.
I've been here before.
I feel stretched. Spread out.
My life is dark.
My life is stone.
I need dark. I need to be gone.
Pull out the needle, can't just be stoned.
I fold my hands before I close my eyes.

Maybe I'm messed up but I loved the dark turn this poem takes.
