Wish You Were Here
One day I’ll move to warmer climes,
One day I’ll move to warmer climes,
devote
myself to sea-filled coves,
brush
sand and sunlight from my hair
and
sleep wrapped in your arms.
You’ll
pick flowers as a gift,
find
quiet spots where we can swim,
carry
me across the rocks,
with
laughter in our eyes.
The
snow still has us trapped, for now,
its
chill has seeped into your heart,
too
far in for me to reach it.
That’s
why your words taste like poison.
Your
hands have been hardened by the frost
and
I am not enough to thaw them.

Beautiful poem. I especially like the dreamlike sing-song quality of "One day I’ll move to warmer climes". Not sure about the forth line it feels kind of abrupt after the first three.
